Hello!
My name is Brian DePauw and I am a fourth year mechanical engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. Originally from North Carolina, I moved to the Cleveland area when I was about four years old. I have two fantastic parents and one sister, Liz, who is a junior in the physical therapy program at Marquette. My wonderful girlfriend of two years, Claire, is a fine arts student at UC. At UC, I am a member of the Running Club, Cincy Snowcats (ski club), and Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies. My other hobbies include modifying cars and hiking, camping, and rock climbing. A few of my past accomplishments include being a National Merit Scholar, an Eagle Scout, and the MVP and captain of my high school's track and cross country teams. I have completed three co-op rotations with GE Aviation in Evendale, Dayton, and West Chester, Ohio. My experiences there have ranged from spare parts inventory to development component testing to engine external design. I also have experience as a manufacturing/automation intern at Atlantic Tool & Die in Wadsworth, Ohio. I have high expectations for myself, so I set challenging, but rewarding goals. I plan to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics. I plan to pursue a job in the aviation industry in either design or testing. I want to continue to serve those less fortunate through volunteering at the Matthew 25 Ministries donation center and the Wheels program through Crossroads. Some athletic goals of mine are to run a marathon and climb a mountain. The goal that I think will be most fulfilling, however is to have a family and children someday. |
